Uttarakhand and Globalization: Challenges to Sustainable Development

Creative Uttarakhand Myor Pahad successfully organized a Seminar on Uttarakhand and Globalization: Challenges to Sustainable Development at Press Club of India on 10th of February 2008. Troupe also launched it annual magazine "Hameri Virasat" dedicated to the spiritual town of Uttarakhand Bageshwer. Here is what Our mentor Shri. Chandan Dangi Ji says “ It was a great pleasure meeting the young and the elderly, aspirants and the experienced. The learned participants in their respective field of ground work and the WILLING lot to learn and DO something what matters in the up bringing of our brethren back home and here for the people of Uttarakhand. After a big pause, I have had the opportunity to take part in the e-group's initiated meet at the Press Club of India, New Delhi. "Thanks to the organizers, its one of the most fulfilling meets that I have attended among the net users, e-groups since 2001.” Knowing at the tender age, knowing her/his potential and encashing opportunities by grabbing them at the right time is a big achievement of such events. Knowing first is something, I feel, one can choose to work later. Already known and sharing it with the others to make to society at large aware of their rights and duties can pave the way for the Government to work effectively.
The participants besides e-members of various Yahoo Groups were from a different walks of REAL life from Activists, Politicians, Journalists, Scholars, Professionals, Entrepreneurs and ANDOLANKARIs demanding separate state and agitating at the Jantar Mantar were witnessing a different kind of an initiative. Event was graced by the presence of senior social worker and former editor of Doordarshan Shri. Rajendra Dhasmana, Padm Shri. Prof. Shekhar Pathak, President of Uttarakhand Journalist Association Shri. Gyanendra Pandey, active initiator of Uttarakhand Movement and Editor of Pyara Uttarakhand Shri, Dev Sigh Rawat, Senior Journalist Devendra Uppadhyay, Director of Amrpali Institute Shri. K. K. Pandey, famous catalytic personality Shri Chandan Dangi Ji, Congress Leader Shri. K. M. Pandey Ji, Editor of Time Pass Shri. Dhulia Ji, Social activist from Pauri Shi Rajendra Sawant Ji, former chief secretary of Association of Journalist Shri. Data Ram Chamoli, Delhi Pradesh president of UKD, Shri. Prem Sundyiyal, GM Finance GAIL Shri. Ashutosh Karnatak and other. As a matter of fact, it was a long cherished dream for us to bring together the three generations on a common platform. Internet community of Uttarakhand is already globalized. We believe that organizing such events would enlighten the web community and strengthen us to choose the right activity or work for making a difference in the society. We could see a lot of potential for all those young lads, who took part in the meet and also to all those, who can watch the event on-line.
