  • Munsyari: is situated at a distance of about 62 Kms from Jauljibi via Madkot 120 Kms from Pithoragarh via Thal-Tejam Kalamuni and 207 Kms from Almora via Takula-Bageshwar and Thal along the same routes. On both the routs the traveler can see many water falls coming down to Gori and Ramganga.

    Besides housing the tehsil headquarters, Munsyari is the center as well as the gate way of the Johar region. The whole Johari Population of Munsyari would migrate to this summer settlements to engage in trade with the advent of spring. Although, Johars still deal in woolens and herbs, there are a number of Johars who have turned to agriculture and horticulture. Nonetheless they all are confined to Munsyari alone.

  • Lansdowne: 81 kms. from Pauri, Lansdowne was originally a popular hill station with the Britishers. Attracted by its salubrious climate and natural beauty, they established a cantonment here. It was founded by Lord Lansdowne in 1887 A.D., thus the place has been named after him. The famous Garhwal Rifles on the Indian Army also has its command office here.

    Lansdowne is situated at an altitude of 1,706 mts. enroute Kotdwar- Pauri road, 37kms. from Kotdwar. Surrounded by thick Oak and blue Pine forest. It is a very charming place for a quiet holiday as it is devoid of the usual hustle and bustle of hill stations.
